Degree Show Board

This is my degree show board. The main image is my ISTD Three minutes poster. But you can also see my Faber and Faber books and some of my other designs, including the media pack used by ‘newmediaage’ which I designed on a placement with them.
HP poster production

Here are a few snaps of the production of my screen printed posters
A little bit about me

I am a young creative graphic designer, just about to graduate from Nottingham Trent University. I am not afraid of immersing myself within work and I’m a designer who can be relied on to think laterally.
I have the experience of working within a professional environment as well as working within a team. I believe that I can be an asset to any design company and I still want to improve my professional approach and skill set.
Parallel to my final year of university work i am constantly looking for extra work to develop myself as a professional designer. Currently I am in the final stages of compiling a sporting yearbook. Throughout I have been gaining vital experience, from demanding time schedules to working with writers and printers.

Hewlett Packard Posters

These are my Hewlett Packard posters advertising the Hewlett Packard workstations brand to the textiles industry. I have taken two famous patterns, one being a ‘William Morris’ and the other being a ‘Paisley’. I then redrew them to be able to include elements of the Hewlett Packard identity. These were then put back onto the computer and I altered and cut them to create the logo and tag lines. These finals have been screen-printed to reintroduce a hand finished quality
Hewlett Packard magazine adverts

These are my magazine adverts which accompany my posters to advertise Hewlett Packard to the textiles industry. These work inversely to the posters, taking the design elements and creating the tag line out of them. Rather than taking elements away from the pattern I have created them out of it.
Faber and Faber book Covers

These are my Faber and Faber book cover designs. They work with wrap around sleeves which have been laser cut. There are two formats for the book and both fit into the grid which I have created for it.
Typo Tales Animation
Check out the animation at Vimeo
This is my stop frame animation about a 911 emergency call in America. The call surrounds a pet monkey attack on its owners friend. I have created this by using 800 individual pdfs all printed and photographed then synced to the sound clip in Final Cut Pro.
Spam Advertising
Link to the television advert
This my advertising to try and bring back Spam. I went with the hook of ‘Your One a Day!’. Trying to make people think that you need to have one tin of Spam a day rather than 5 fruits or 3 dairy products etc. I have created a light and humorous side to this as well. Please check the advert out at Vimeo.
These are my magazine adverts which I created to support the television advert. Following the aesthetic of the advert these have been created with the same sort of brand management.

ISTD Pocket Book

This is the 70mm x 70mm pocket book which accompanies my ISTD poster. The book’s narrative is my journey which I undertook in creating the poster, and as such can be followed by anyone else. It breaks down each individual point of reference from the poster. Each point has two layers so the user can see the details of the typography with more detail, whether that is the overlay of typography to the actual found text. The layers can work separately from each other or as they do on the poster together.
ISTD Three Minutes Project

This is a typographic poster describing the typographic noise in the centre of Nottingham. This A1 poster has been made up of 42 individual points, each of them visual describing every piece of typography that could be seen., from shop sign to graffiti. The points then plot the distance and height from where they were viewed. These points were all put together separate from each other and then placed on a map of Nottingham in scale. The map was then removed and it left my resulting typographic map of Nottingham city centre.
